Portland, Oregon. 50,000 sq. feet +

This job is a continuation of a blue heron that was painted by us in 1991. It is on the Portland memorial building in Sellwood district. This is a huge project that we have put on hold due to the cold weather. We will be continuing in the spring to finish the mural and also repaint the Blue heron. It was approved by the regional arts and culture council in order to even start. We are also working with Mike Houch of the Urban Greenspaces Inst. to help raise money. All these birds are migratory to this area of Oaks bottom in Portland. There will be Mallards, Hooded Mcgansers, Ospray, canadaian geese, redtailed hawk, Blue herons, egrets, bald eagles, red winged black birds, owls, beavers and more..... . . keep lookout can see this one from many points in Portland and we will be finishing in Spring.

JVC Times Square...

This is two shots of before and after job for clear channel in times square. It was done with a boom lift. Looks even better in person.

Las Vegas, Barry Manilow

"Las Vegas Heat Wave" Not a single day was below 101 with a high of 109 degrees for two days. Mind you that this wall looks down directly at the pool, all day people are swimming, drinking and taking pictures. This was done by Sunny and Shane in a total of nine days from start to finish. The wall was in direct sunlight at 10:30 AM till sundown. This made for very frustrating conditions for painting, the paint would dry instantly. We had very little time to blend the colors. By 9:30am while still in the shade we would have to wipe off our faces from sweat at least every half hour. Special thanks to Derek for the dry-fits, and SkyTag for making it all possible.

NYC Harlem Hieneken Wall

This is me taking down the old ad and starting a new one. Finished picture will follow. Sometimes rigging can be tricky in NYC.

But not when you have a uhaul van to carry a 24' rig from midtown all the way out the FDR to 155th in Harlem. haha Funtimes.

Park Ave South & 23rd. NYC

Nights in Rodanthe, "another epic love saga". 60' faces. I also took a lot of video for this one and will post the link to the latest Art Fx video on the next blog when the video is finished.

Batman NYC

We finished this wall in record time, it was by far the fastest wall painted this year for Art Fx. Summer is right around the corner for NYC. We had a fun BBQ in the park and had a lot of time off after this job.

Hotel Fig. Grand Theft Auto

Bleeker St. - Hennessy

Bleeker and 7th St. This mural is in a Great Location. The foot traffic is very very high. One day they were filming a movie right across the street. The next day a building went up in flames and was put out in no time by the FDNY. The doubledecker city tour buses go left right here so those people are constantly waving and taking pictures all day. Really a fun wall to work on.

Speed Racer

This mural gets the "Most Detailed" award of the year so far.

Only took 6 days to paint.

34th & 8th

Finally finished. Worst wall for Art Fx this year for many many reasons left unsaid. Wall turned out really nice.

NYC is still COLD!!!!!!!

Winter is still kicking in NYC. We have had our typical bad weather this trip so far full of rain, high winds, and cold temperatures. We are wrapping up the 34th and 8th ave. wall now and starting Park Ave. Speed Racer tomorrow. We all went to Toots and Mytals the other night and man what a show. Dont ever pass up that concert. More pictures to come.

Fig Monster Los Angeles

A Nike Nightmare!!!

This detail creative has been nicknamed "nightmare" by the crew. There are over 120 kids playing over 6 different sports on almost every square inch of this mural. We have been painting now for 2 days. We also just started the back side of Hotel Figueroa, It's a movie called Horton Hear's a Who. We have the most Art Fx employees in one place in years, and theres a rumor that Top Dog himself might even make an appearance? We will be holding our first quarter meeting/party soon.

Crown Royal - Los Angeles.

Crown Royal, this giant bottle of booze can be seen from the airplane when you come into LAX. No joke. Located on Western Ave. and Whilshire Blvd. This is the biggest wall we do in LA. 84 X 220' high. It takes twenty mins just to ride the rig to the top. "The Beast". Special "Thanks" to Larry M. at Clear Channel Outdoor for always being patient and understanding with us.

Work Hard = Play Hard. Lake Tahoe - Mammoth

A break in the action in Toronto, New York and L.A. and off to the mountains we go. Sunny and I went storm chasing and hit Mammoth and Tahoe right after a huge dumping of fresh champagne powder. We went Mammoth, June, Kirkwood, Heavenly. It was an "epic" trip to say the least. Big Ups to the Louisiana Crew we met in Tahoe. They were charging it everyday.

10,000 B.C. New York

Its always nice when a really cool creative comes around that we enjoy painting. This is a good example of that. This picture has a bad shadow from sun and surrounding buildings but if you want to see it for your self go to Park ave. and 23rd and you'll see it. I will try and post a better picture soon. Next stop Tahoe!!!!!

Art Fx Murals goes International

Toronto, Canada here we come. We got a contract to paint walls for Titan Worldwide. The contract started in Jan. so you can only imagine how cold it was. We thought New York was bad oh no. Here you will see the snow on the rig. We had to cover our paints every night. We can paint in the snow and it snowed about four out of the seven days we were working on this wall. Mr. Ellerton was wondering why he moved from sunny California. Ha.

The "Walldogs" in action ready for a night on the town.

This wall was a nightmare. It had 52 cracks top to bottom 80' tall. Along with 15 horizontal cracks. The worst wall we have worked in ten years without a doubt. Not to mention in freezing weather.

This wall was a tough one. Ha. Good thing we had the "letter master" Nate Wright with us. He works for Art Fx to pay the bills with his lettering tricks but really he is a starving actor, don't worry someday soon Nate.

So for now we are taking a month off from Toronto and heading to NYC then LA for our next job thank god, cause its to cold here. Spring couldn't come fast enough in the TO!!! oh did I mention a Snowboarding trip also!!!

Jumper - Los Angeles

We painted the movie ad for Jumper on the Hotel Figueroa in downtown LA. It took 10 days or so... went smooth for the most part. In this picture is a reflection from the sun.
